Please help me something on Belgium

Please help me something on Belgium?
My husband is about to go to Belgium in this late August to pursue his Ph.D degree, then I will come there for family union. I would like to get your advice for some matters in Belgium as follows: Firstly, I wonder if I am allowed to find a job or certain study course in Belgium. His scholarship can cover our life in Belgium, however I want to work to get more. Secondly, I donĂ¢€™t know maximum of how much I am allowed to bring along when I enter Belgium legally. Lastly, can you advise me on Bank I should open our account in Belgium?

1. If you are not a national of the EU you are not allowed to work. However as a family member of an individual residing in Belgium this may change matters and you should check with the Belgian embassy in your country. However be advised that in order to be competitive on the labour market you need at least a bachelors degree and you need to speak fluently English, French and Flemish. (German and or Spanish as an extra would be useful). 2.Are you sure that the income from the scholarship covers the cost of living for both of you? Cost of living in Euros is extremely high and you could face some unpleasant surprises. 3. How much can you bring with you? See Belgian embassy. 4. Bank: Fortis Bank or ING. Both have agencies all over the place. However be advised that in most of those agencies there is no personnel attending the public for day to day operations. Everything is done by automatic machines (type ATM) with indications in Flemish or French or alternatively by internet.

1) of course you can why can't you, the is no rules of who can and who can't get a job or study. 2) as much as you want to, just make sure you have a moving company and take as much as you would on a holiday when YOU go on a plane. 3) the best bank companies are KBC, Argenta ,deutch bank

More info about working in Belgium: http://www.belgium.be/en/work/coming_to_work_in_belgium/ If you are not allowed to have a job, you can always do volunteer work. Studying in Belgium: http://www.belgium.be/en/education/coming_to_study_in_belgium/ At least you can become a "free" student to follow the lessons at university but you can not do exams. And there are many other courses (like learning languages or other things). Of course most of them are in Dutch (Flanders region) or French (Wallon region). In Brussels it will be easier to find also courses in English, and also the university cities like Gent, Leuven, Antwerpen have more possibilities. More information about moving to Belgium: http://www.belgium.be/en/housing/moving_to_belgium/ The major banking brands who cover all services and are all around the country are KBC, ING, Dexia and BNP Fortis Paribas. Only KBC is still a Belgium company, ING is Dutch, Dexia and BNP Fortis Paribas are French. They have not the cheapest fees or the hightest rates but have the best service and widest range of products. Beside that you have tow major types of banks: smaller Belgian banks who cover most of the country but have a smaller range of products (like Argenta, Centea, Landbouwkrediet, Credit Agricole); and international banks who operate on local Belgium market but have only offices in the big cities (Deutsch Bank, Citibank) or the internet (Rabobank). They give the best price for (some) basic products but be careful about hidden costs (like for internationally bank transfers, extra bank cards,...)

In basball terms pretty good I guess. The Netherlands knocked off Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic.

Not a lot of ppl here speak english but there are international companies. Since Belgium is a bilingual country you'll have to speak French and Flemish though. And anyway, why'd you wanna come to Belgium? I can't wait to get out of here :/

Unless you have a specialized degree in something , Bachelors or higher, you would have a difficult time finding any job if you do not speak a minimum of English/French or English/Dutch. Even then with a degree, it is hard to come by an English only job! And agreeing with the lady above me, why on earth would you want to come here? I personally cannot wait until my husband gets his Visa and we leave! It is so cold and gloomy here, I do not see what anyone likes about Brussels beyond its good chocolate lol.

It's pretty easy to find work if you speak english but you won't enjoy the stay. The best thing about working in another country is being able to speak to the people you work with in their own language. However, most multinational companies have also pretty international staff so a lot of companies have an english language rule. Both countries are quite nice to live in (if you are NOT a sun and heat fanatic). And people are very open and welcoming of foreigners. Again, always easier if you make the effort and learn their language. Dutch/flemish are not that difficult to learn. I moved to Brussels 4 years ago for work and learned the language pretty quickly (German/french native)

lots of ppl work in european parliament as it's a center of europe. there are lots of lawyers(than anywhere in Belgium). i'm not really sure what your question is about, is it the whole question??
2 :
Primary: intensive farming, mainly pigs and vegetables Secondary: various industries: refining, chemical, car assembly, textiles Tertiary: as in all developed countries, the majority of jobs is in the tertiary sector. Belgium is a logistics hub in Europe. The presence of the EU commission, NATO and SHAPE has brought many civil servants

Where is the best country to live & work in?
Looking for a safe country, good weather, good education & friendly people. I'm from Belgium, but living in South Africa at the moment. My husband & I want to start a family, but too scared in this country... Very unstable at the moment & education is dropping. Too much crime here too.... Would appreciate different countries so i can compare.

If I had a choice i would choose Mexico, easy jobs, great people and good education. Very safe as well, depending where in Mexico

All South Africans come to Perth. This is exaggerated most likely, but it is the message we in Perth get with the general exodus of them over here.

Hi ,I don't agree with babiiP , if it's so good why do all the Mexicans move to the United States for a better life ? Maybe U.S.A. or Canada or France if you speak french(from Belguim) or maybe Quebec in Canada where they speak French .But very cold in Canada in winter though.May I suggest you do your research online, and ask people in person , about each country , the good ,bad and ugly aspects of each country, weigh up your options.

The good ole United States, of course! I've heard that Wyoming has not problems with the recession. The oil business in booming and this has a positive effect on all businesses in that state.
