Look up the "Agences d'Interim" but this will make it official. You could clean in a private house, hotelrooms or clean dishes in a hotel/restaurant/café. Anything that has to do with a job "behind the scene" in the horeca sector really. Be aware that certain bosses pay only part of what was negociated - or do not pay at all - their people who work "in black" and that you won't have any way to complain, to get your money paid or sue them. Why don't you try to work openly...students don't pay taxes..if they work under a certain amount of hours per month. Check out agencies dealing with "temporary work". There are several of them on the Place de Brouckère (downtown) and also on the Avenue Louise (Uptown). Carrefour, Colruyt, Delhaize or any other supermarket are always looking for students during the holidays to replace their regular staff who are off. Be aware also that students can only work 'officially" during certain months. Unless you are already doing the full amount of hours legally allowed to a student, you have absolutely no advantage in working "sous la table!" I wish you all the best and hope I could be of some help.

Belgian students (and I suppose this is the same for foreign students) can work 23 days during in July/August/September and 23 days between January, October-December without losing their student status. As a non-resident you only need to pay taxes if you are in Belgium more than 183 days...maybe that's the case for you. The advantage of official work is that you are sure you will be paid plus you get paid for the legal holidays during your contract PLUS you get also an end of year bonus (legal) and part of your holiday for Y+1 is paid. For each month you have worked as an employee you get 2 days extra paid for your holidays in the year after that.

Do the walk and be bold. Go into the places that look as if they might and ask if they have work. Only after they have said yes you could ask them if it is under the Table or not. I can only assume you would need a working permit and that would be the reasons you are not going through the agencies. There is under the table work in Belgium but but I would imagine it is getting fewer especially in the horeca. When caught you AND the employer will get a fine.

Unlike the USA, EU countries don't have a visa lottery. Unless you are moving for family reunification, or have a specific job offer for a skilled position and you have the requisite qualifications, you cannot move to Europe.
2 :
If you have no claim to citizenship of an EU member state then you need to apply for a visa to live & work in the one of the countries you're interested in Look at the websites for the Embassies of Germany, Belgium & The Netherlands, they will have information on applying for visas German Embassy http://www.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/en/04__Legal/02__Directory__Services/01__Visa/__Visa.html Belgian Embassy http://www.diplobel.us/TravelingBelgium/Visas/Employees.asp Embassy of The Netherlands http://dc.the-netherlands.org/Services/Consular_services/Visa Go to your local library or nearest big bookstore, in the travel section there should be books about living & working in those countries, they should go through the legal ins & outs of living there and offer advice on finding work If you google you'll also find forums for Americans living in various European countries offering advice on how to move to them

On Gunbroker.com they seem to be running anywhere from $500-$800. You might be able to price it a bit higher if this is a limited edition. The only thing that tipped me off to this the fact that you said it had Red Head written on the side of it and Red Head is an outdoor sport outfitter. One of Cabela's competitors. I hope this helps. Good luck!

USPS stealing anything coming from abroad ..and you cannot just complain

USPS stealing anything coming from abroad ..and you cannot just complain?
I ordered some art work from Belgium ,Denmark and some electronic stuff from Singapore ( that was not available locally ) . Some of the stuff from Europe and Singapore is missing - hasn't turned up. Now Country to Country mailing prices and modalities differ. Some countries have tracking available cheap others don't have anything between standard mail and registered mail and the cost difference can be pretty high. Now all items were mailed the same day. Item A worth $5 arrived , though very late. Item B worth $50 has'nt come. When I call up the USPS international parcels dept - they JUST REFUSED TO TAKE DOWN A COMPLAINT , SITING THAT THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN INITIATE A COMPLAINT IS THE SENDER FROM HIS COUNTRY NOT THE RECEIPIENT. IN OTHER WORDS WHAT USPS IS TRYING TO TELL US IS "IF THE PARCEL IS VALUABLE BUT THERE IS NO TRACKING INFO - WE WILL STEAL IT AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLAIN. " === " EVERYTHING WORTH SOME VALUE , SENT REGULAR MAIL WILL BE STOLEN " . I AM SO PISSED. DOES ANYONE HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE AND WHAT DID YOU DO ? sorry still not convinced !!! Because the same sender sends a $5 item - I get it - $50 Item - no news. Something fishy

I have had many things shipped from around the world and have never had a problem. A $50 item is not "expensive" in terms of what USPS ships processes every day. It's always the sender who has authority to file a complaint. Your situation is no different. And this would be the same with UPS & FedEx also. In my 35y of using the post office, I have had two problems: - one package was delivered to the senders address for some reason. We have never figured it out. This probably was 5y ago. - one package in 1991, never arrived and to my knowledge, never been found. My guess is the problem is the postal service in the country you shipped from (Singapore) and not the USPS.

I would say your problem is with the Customs department in the foreign countries. Since the value on the packages must be declared, and then pass through Customs, it is very likely that the Customs personnel are "confiscating" your items. Unfortunately, the best way to help insure you will receive the items is to have them mailed by Registered Mail.

Different countries have different regulations on international post. Your packages could be tied up in customs for up to a month. Just to get something from canada driven across the border took 23 days on one of my packages. Just wait it out.
