my friend went to work in belgium for a couple of weeks and left with no form of identification an it still baffles me as to how he got out there in the first place but yeah how easy is it to return to england from belgium (assuming hes going through france to get to calais and then ferry to dover) without anything?? it really has confused me and can he be in trouble for immigration lol?

Either he has a form of ID that he didn't disclose to you or he's been smuggled into the country & will be smuggled out again if he has no ID - national identity papers for Belgium or another EU member state, driver's licence, an internationally recognised form of student ID, a British identity card or passport - then he won't be worried about what immigration thinks because he's clearly not using legal means to travel
