Belgium War Graves- Careers and Internships.

Belgium War Graves- Careers and Internships.?
I loved visiting the In Flanders Field Museum in Ypres a few years ago, and as a result I always wanted to do a gap year/voluntary work in Belgium. I really don't know where to begin and how to go about it... just wondered if anyone had any ideas or suggestions :-) I'm in my first year at Uni now, and was wondering about doing something for 3 months in the summer. Any ideas??? I'd be so grateful :) x I'm British. I was thinking voluntary work. Thanks x Thank you- this has really really helped me. :-) I'm not a gentleman hahaha...I'm a girl. But thanks!!x

Do you want to work around the War Graves or does not matter what or where you want to work? In the first case you can start by contacting: - the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, this organisation take care of the British war graves http://www.cwgc.org/ - the people of the IJzertoren in Diksmuide also can use volunteers. This organisation works around Peace, Freedom and Tolerance http://www.ijzertoren.org/? (it seems they can use an technical editor for their website also) - in the small village "Mesen" there is an Irish Peace Park. Maybe they can use someone to help. http://www.mesen.be/website-en/116-www.html For other volunteer work you can start checking these sites: http://www.volunteerabroad.com/Belgium.cfm http://www.4icj.com/be/10-seasonal-jobs-volunteering.htm http://www.transitionsabroad.com/listings/work/volunteer/volunteer_in_belgium.shtml http://europa.eu/youth/volunteering_-_exchanges/index_be_en.html and of course you are always welcome to do my housekeeping for free ;-)

Dom what can I say this is fab?not many young people want to do this and I for one think this is the making of a fine young gentleman, remember you will need accommodation and money for food and I know that for a volunteer its not really a thing that is done in Belgium but maybe Ypres is different!good luck I would check here in Briton first at the army to see if they can correspond for you?
